Gov. Andy Beshear announced that Archer Daniels Midland Company will expand its natural color production capabilities at its Northern Kentucky facility with a $16 million investment expected to create more than 40 full-time jobs, according to a statement from the Office of the Governor.

The expansion supports growing demand for natural color solutions in food and beverage products as manufacturers seek to reformulate items with cleaner labels and naturally derived ingredients. ADM operates multiple facilities in the region focused on developing taste, flavor, and color ingredients for food and beverage companies.

The investment reflects broader industry trends toward product reformulation. According to ADM's research, more than 80% of U.S. consumers favor reformulation in food and beverage products, with consumers increasingly seeking cleaner-label options and naturally derived alternatives to synthetic ingredients.

The expansion builds on ADM's commitment to Northern Kentucky as a hub for innovation in food and beverage ingredient development. The facility serves customers across multiple product categories, including beverages, bakery, dairy, and snacks.

BE NKY Growth Partnership, the regional economic development organization, welcomed the investment. "The Cincinnati region has a strong legacy of leadership in the food and flavoring industry, and ADM is building on that tradition," a spokesperson said.
