Ancra Cargo's Hebron facility has earned the state's highest workplace safety honor, recognition that underscores the company's commitment to protecting its employees and maintaining industry-leading safety standards.

The company received certification through Kentucky's Voluntary Protection Partnership (VPP) program, with Gov. Andy Beshear recognizing the achievement on March 24. Ancra Cargo is the 12th company and 20th site in Kentucky to receive the certification.

The Kentucky VPP is a program offered by the Division of Education and Training to recognize and promote exemplary safety and health performance in the workplace. The certification is awarded to organizations that go above and beyond standard safety requirements by implementing comprehensive safety and health management systems, demonstrating strong leadership commitment, active employee involvement, proactive hazard prevention, and injury and illness rates below industry averages.

"This recognition reflects more than a safety system; it represents a culture built on accountability, teamwork, and genuine care for one another," said Larry Bethel, Ancra Cargo President, according to a statement. Founded in 1969, Ancra Cargo is a world-class leader in cargo handling and restraint systems, designing and manufacturing load securement products for transportation and material handling industries worldwide.

The company established its Hebron headquarters through an $8 million renovation of a 150,000-square-foot facility in 2023, consolidating manufacturing and distribution operations. Lee Crume, CEO of BE NKY Growth Partnership, lauded the achievement, saying it demonstrates the excellence of Ancra's culture and that the company is a safety leader in the community.
