Hey, this question came in from at-KentuckyNativeGardens on YouTube. They're asking what other developments is Dennis Anderson behind? I know that name from around town but I'm not sure about all his projects.
Dennis Anderson's been at this for nearly thirty years, starting as a Lexington pharmacist who began buying distressed homes and renovating them. By nineteen ninety-three, he'd remodeled more than a hundred homes, improving neighborhoods around the city. Now, he owns six new home communities, several commercial centers, and has a large portfolio of land for future development.
So he's really grown from that first house flip?
Absolutely. Anderson Communities now manages nearly three thousand residential units in Lexington and the surrounding areas. Some of his bigger residential projects include a subdivision that will have eleven hundred seventy-eight homes when completed, making it one of the largest in Lexington, plus it has a linear park with walking trails throughout. He's also got a hundred fifty-eight acre development in the works that will have six hundred thirty homes.
What about commercial stuff?
His Anderson Commercial arm just opened Great Acres development on the west side of Lexington, which is booming and recently announced that Starbucks is joining the mix. Plus he's got a live-work-play community just inside New Circle Road and Leestown Road that's home to Walgreens, Community Trust Bank, Shell Station, Wendy's, Taco Bell, and about a dozen other businesses. He's also bringing something new to the Richmond Road and Hays Boulevard area.
Guy's been busy building up Lexington for three decades now.
He's really become a pioneer in creating mixed-use communities in central Kentucky. That's the Anderson footprint all over town.
