Big Blue Madness tickets sell out in 22 minutes
LEXINGTON, Ky. — All available tickets for Big Blue Madness sold out in just 22 minutes, as Kentucky basketball fans demonstrated their enthusiasm for the season-opening event presented by Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass.
The tipoff event for the 2026-27 Kentucky men's and women's basketball seasons will take place on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. Fans unable to secure tickets will be able to watch the event live on SEC Network+.
UK Athletics is reminding fans to take precautions with their tickets, discouraging resales and warning against posting images of ticket barcodes online. The university is introducing an enhanced security feature this season called SafeTix, which uses an encrypted barcode that automatically refreshes every 15 seconds to prevent fraud. Screenshots and recordings of tickets will no longer work for entry, though fans may still transfer tickets through their accounts and the UK Athletics App.
The popular Big Blue Madness Fan Fest presented by Kroger will return on Saturday, Oct. 3, with additional details about activities and programming to be announced soon.
Fans interested in attending next season's basketball games can explore season ticket options. New men's basketball season ticket inquiries can be submitted through the UK Athletics website, while those seeking lower-level seats with a capital pledge commitment can contact the K Fund at (859) 257-6300 or [email protected]. Women's basketball season ticket information is available through the Ticketmaster website or by calling the UK Ticket Sales team at (859) 257-1818, option 1.
