
Bluegrass Greensource launches online silent auction
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Bluegrass Greensource, the region's leading environmental nonprofit, is hosting a silent auction online to support its environmental education and outreach work across Central Kentucky.
The online auction features donated items and artwork from community members, local businesses and board supporters. Interested bidders can browse and place bids through the organization's fundraising platform.
Since 2001, Bluegrass Greensource has empowered individuals, businesses, organizations, and communities with the tools they need to create a more sustainable Bluegrass. The organization operates through direct engagement of students and teachers, community members, businesses, and others who are invested in creating a sustainable Central Kentucky across 20 counties.
The organization's work includes environmental education, resources and outreach programs on topics ranging from energy efficiency and recycling to water quality and waste reduction. The award-winning Live Green Lexington Partner program, an initiative created by Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and managed by Greensource, has fostered recycling and water quality initiatives in more than 300 businesses, over 70 schools and more than 50 apartment complexes in Lexington.
Auction proceeds will support the nonprofit's community programming and environmental education initiatives. The organization's supporters are encouraged to help Bluegrass Greensource by participating in activities that inspire small changes making a big impact in the local environment.
