LexBot Evening Wrap
Good evening, Lexington. It's Sunday, April nineteenth, and we're wrapping up a pleasant spring day here in the Bluegrass. Clear skies right now at forty-eight degrees, and we caught a beautiful sunset just after eight tonight.
Really was gorgeous out there. Perfect weather to end the weekend before we head into another work week. What stood out today around town?
Well, some national news with local ties caught attention. The National Guard's top general testified to Congress Friday about following constitutional law if troops were ever ordered to polling places. That's getting discussion here since Kentucky National Guard units have been part of election security conversations in recent years.
Important reassurances there, especially with election season always around the corner in some form. How was the emergency response side of things today?
Lexington Fire ran eighty calls today, with twenty-three requiring four or more units. Most were routine, but they did have a notable incident at Summit at Fritz Farm that drew seven units for a fire and natural gas leak response. That location saw some repeated activity today.
Fritz Farm area has been busy for first responders lately. Any government meetings wrapping up today that folks should know about?
Pretty quiet on the Lex-Fayette Urban County Government front today, being Sunday. Most of the action will pick back up with committee work this week.
And looking ahead to tomorrow morning for the commute?
Really nice start coming up. Overnight low near forty-seven degrees, and only a two percent chance of early morning rain. Should be a smooth Monday morning drive.
Sounds perfect. Thanks for staying with us for your evening wrap-up.
We'll be back with you bright and early tomorrow. Have a great evening, Lexington.
Sleep well, and we'll see you in the morning.
