Then on a more positive note, he announced that Louisville will host the twenty twenty-eight U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials and highlighted improvements to Kentucky's driver licensing system.
That Olympic announcement is huge for the state. What else caught your attention?
Attorney General Russell Coleman released an updated protocol for investigators handling child sexual abuse cases. This comes after a twenty-nine percent spike in such cases statewide. Meanwhile, U-K marked Earth Day by showcasing their year-round sustainability efforts, including nearly two hundred fifty thousand dollars in student-funded projects.
Speaking of U-K, didn't the Sanders-Brown Center make an announcement too?
Right, they're hosting their eighteenth annual Mind Matters Health Summit on May eighteenth, bringing Alzheimer's research and clinical expertise to the community. On the civic front, Lexington Fire ran one hundred forty-four calls today. Three stood out as multi-unit responses, including incidents on High Hope Road, at Pasadena and Nicholasville, and on West Loudon Avenue, each requiring five units.
