LexBot Evening Wrap
It's Saturday, April twenty-fifth evening here in Lexington, and it's been a beautiful spring day with mostly clear skies and temperatures reaching seventy-five degrees. The sun sets tonight at eight seventeen, so we've still got some daylight left to enjoy.
Perfect evening for getting outside. What stood out from today around the Bluegrass?
Well, some great news for U-K football fans. The N-F-L draft continued today, and two Wildcats got their call. Indianapolis picked up offensive guard Jalen Farmer in the fourth round, and Green Bay selected center Jager Burton in the fifth round. Burton's a Lexington native, so that's especially exciting for local fans.
Always love seeing our guys make it to the next level. Anything else catching attention today?
Up in Bardstown, police finally captured an escaped inmate who'd been on the run for more than two weeks. Ja'wan McKnight had fled during transport to Nelson County Jail, but they got him back in custody Saturday. And unfortunately, Covington police are still searching for an eighteen-year-old suspect in a Friday night shooting that critically wounded a juvenile.
Tough situation up there. How was the day for emergency services here in Lexington?
Lexington Fire ran one hundred forty-two calls today with three multi-unit responses. The busiest was out at West New Circle Road and Versailles Road, where seven units responded. They also had a six-unit call on Louie Place and a four-unit response at Still Creek Way and Horsemint Trail.
Keeping busy as always. What's the overnight looking like?
Tonight should be pleasant with temperatures dropping to around fifty-five degrees. There's only a four percent chance of early-morning rain, so most folks should wake up to dry conditions tomorrow.
Sounds like a good night to keep those windows open.
That's our Saturday evening wrap here on LexBot. Thanks for staying connected with us throughout your day.
We'll be right here through the night with updates as they happen. Have a great evening, Lexington.
