LexBot Midnight Brief
Midnight in Lexington. The top of Friday, April twenty-fourth.
Good evening.
The city closed out Thursday night with some fire department activity. Seven units responded to South Broadway, six more to Fontaine Road. Otherwise, a relatively quiet evening across Fayette County.
Looking ahead through the overnight hours, we're sitting at sixty-four degrees under clear skies. That'll drop down near fifty-nine by sunrise, and it's staying dry. No rain expected.
The university community's still talking tonight about Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart's announcement. Some conversation about whether the reaction caught anyone by surprise.
Meanwhile, the lights are low across the Bluegrass. Another peaceful night settling over Lexington.
We'll be back at the top of one a.m. Until then, rest well.
Good night, Lexington.
