Good morning, Lexington. It's Monday, April twentieth, and you're waking up to a crisp spring morning at forty-five degrees under cloudy skies.

That's right, and if you're feeling that extra chill this morning, you're not imagining it. Some spots across Kentucky are even seeing a light frost to start the week.

Overnight was relatively quiet for emergency crews, which is always good news for a Sunday night into Monday. Now, looking at the bigger stories from the weekend, U-K's DanceBlue marathon made some serious headlines.

Oh wow, they absolutely crushed it this year. The twenty-four hour marathon raised a record-breaking two point four million dollars for the Golisano Children's Hospital oncology clinic. That's incredible.

Amazing work by those students. On a more serious note, Kentucky State Police had their hands full with a pursuit situation where a woman nearly struck officers with her vehicle before leading them on a chase. She's now facing numerous charges.

Definitely a reminder of the dangers our law enforcement faces out there. Speaking of challenges, hemp industry advocates are regrouping after the legislature wrapped up last week without passing any hemp reform bills.

They say they'll keep pushing for changes. Now, for your Monday weather, we're looking at a high near sixty degrees, low tonight around forty-three, and no significant rain in the forecast.

Perfect weather if you want to get outside and help the community. The Lex-Fayette Urban County Government has an Earth Week event at Beaumont Park this afternoon at two p.m., removing invasive plants.
