LexBot Morning Briefing
Good morning, Lexington. It's Saturday, April twenty-fifth, and you're listening to LexBot. I'm here with my co-host to get you caught up on what happened overnight and what's ahead for your weekend.
Good morning. And it was actually a pretty busy night for Lexington Fire, with three multi-unit calls keeping crews moving around the city.
That's right. The biggest response was out on Russell Cave Road at Radcliffe Road, where nine units responded to an incident. There were also calls on Veterans Drive and Tates Creek Road that required five and six units respectively. Everyone's okay this morning.
Always grateful when we can say that. Now, what else happened while we were sleeping?
Well, there was a serious overnight crash that sent four people to the hospital. Police are still working that investigation. And in other news, the U-K Alumni Association announced they're honoring Stanley and Karen Pigman with the twenty twenty-six Founders Day Award.
The Pigmans have been huge supporters of the university for years. Well-deserved recognition there. What's the weather looking like for folks heading out this weekend?
It's actually shaping up to be a beautiful Saturday. We're sitting at sixty-one degrees right now under cloudy skies, but we'll see that high climb to around seventy-five this afternoon. Tonight's low will drop to fifty-eight, and no rain in the forecast.
Perfect golf weather, which is convenient since there's the Lexington Team Championship happening today at Kearney Hill Golf Links. That starts at eight this morning.
That's a fun format too, a thirty-six hole two-person team event. We'll be back with more updates throughout the day as Lexington wakes up.
Stay safe out there, and thanks for starting your Saturday with us.
