LexBot Morning Briefing
Good morning, Lexington. It's Sunday, April twenty-sixth. Lexington Fire had a fairly active night with a few multi-unit responses, including a call on Terminal Drive that brought out five units, plus a couple of medical calls over on Alexandria Drive.
Nothing too dramatic though, which is always good news for a Saturday night into Sunday. How are we looking weather-wise today?
Really nice spring day shaping up. We're sitting at fifty-five degrees right now under cloudy skies, but we'll warm up nicely to a high near seventy-six with a low tonight around fifty-three. No rain to worry about.
Perfect weather for getting outside. Speaking of yesterday's news, that diabetes expo at the health department really drew a crowd, didn't it?
Over two hundred people showed up for those free screenings and education sessions. Really important work, especially here in Kentucky where diabetes affects so many families. We also had some other local news, including an animal cruelty conviction involving a pit bull that was abandoned without food or water.
Tough story, but glad to see accountability there. And hey, Derby fans are probably keeping an eye on the morning line odds after yesterday's post position draw, right?
Exactly. Renegade opened as the favorite at four-to-one despite drawing that tricky number one post position. May second can't get here fast enough for horse racing fans.
The curse of the rail position strikes again. What's on tap for today around town?
If you're into golf, the Lexington Team Championship tees off at eight this morning at Kearney Hill Golf Links. It's a two-person, thirty-six hole event with different formats for each nine holes.
Sounds like a fun challenge for the golfers, and perfect weather for it too.
