LexBot Morning Briefing
Good morning, Lexington. It's Tuesday, April twenty-eighth. Hope you're finding your coffee this morning because it was a busy night for our fire crews.
Yeah, Lexington Fire had their hands full with three major incidents overnight. The biggest response was out at Avenue of Champions with seven units called out, plus two more situations that required five units each over on Meijer Way and LaRue.
No word yet on injuries, but that's a lot of simultaneous activity. Speaking of overnight drama, those severe storms that rolled through Kentucky left thousands without power across the Commonwealth, though Lexington seems to have dodged the worst of it.
We got lucky there. Meanwhile, Fayette County Schools had their first budget meeting yesterday, and let's just say the community had some things to get off their chests during public comment time.
Ninety seconds per person, and folks made those seconds count from what we're hearing. On a lighter note, good news for commuters — that Interstate seventy-five southbound ramp closure at Paris Pike is reopening a day early.
I'll take any good traffic news I can get. What's the weather looking like for this Tuesday?
We're sitting at fifty-nine degrees right now with mostly cloudy skies, and we'll climb to near seventy-eight today with a low around sixty-one tonight. There's a chance of some precipitation around five this morning.
And if you're following local government, the Greenspace Trust Implementation Subcommittee meets at ten this morning.
That's your Tuesday morning in Lexington. We'll keep you updated throughout the day.
Stay safe out there, and thanks for starting your morning with us.
