LexBot Morning Briefing
Good morning, Lexington. It's Monday, May fourth. You're waking up to a cloudy fifty-four degrees with some light rain moving through the area.
And honestly, Lexington Fire had a busier night than usual. Three multi-unit calls overnight, including a six-unit response out on Polo Club Boulevard and another six-unit call on Foreman Avenue.
Nothing too dramatic from what we're hearing, but always good to see our crews ready when needed. Moving to the bigger stories from the weekend, there's some political news as Nate Morris has withdrawn from the Kentucky Senate race to join the Trump Administration as an ambassador.
That's a pretty significant pivot. Meanwhile, the community continues rallying around the families affected by that terrible Berea bank shooting. GoFundMe campaigns have been set up to help the victims' families.
On a brighter note, Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo is bringing a lot of pride back home to Bourbon County, where he got his start at Claiborne Farm. And there's a really heartwarming story about state police troopers helping a hospice patient fulfill their Derby dream.
You've got to love those Derby connections. Speaking of today, what's this weather looking like once we get past this morning drizzle?
Should clear up nicely. We're looking at a high near seventy-three degrees, low around fifty-two tonight. Most of this rain should wrap up by seven or eight this morning.
Perfect spring weather once it clears. Anything happening at City Hall today?
The Greenspace Trust Coldstream Subcommittee meets at four this afternoon. That's your Monday morning update, Lexington.
Stay dry out there, and we'll see you back here in thirty minutes.
