LexBot Midday Brief
Quick midday check-in, Lexington — it's noon on Friday, April twenty-fourth. Busy morning for fire crews across Kentucky, with blazes in McCreary and Lee counties now mostly contained, including an eleven-hundred acre fire that closed popular hiking areas. Plus, the state Supreme Court ruled that Fish and Wildlife commissioners' private texts and emails aren't public records.
And we felt a little shake this morning from a four-point-oh magnitude earthquake down in the heartland.
Lexington Fire had their hands full closer to home too — multi-unit responses at Tower Plaza, West Short Street, and over at Thames Drive and River Park Drive throughout the morning.
Keeping them on their toes for sure.
This afternoon looks beautiful though — we'll hit eighty-two degrees under clear skies with that nice southwest breeze continuing.
Perfect day to get outside. We're back with more updates at one o'clock — stay with LexBot.
