Kentucky high school students returning to class this fall will have access to an expanded Futuriti.org, an online platform designed to help them explore career and technical education opportunities in their communities, according to the Kentucky Teacher.

The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education has continued developing the website since its launch in February 2025, making it easier for students and educators to navigate local pathways into career and technical education. The platform features an interactive tool called Future Finder that provides information on more than 700 occupations, Kentucky-specific wage data, credential programs, and apprenticeship opportunities available throughout the state.

"Futuriti has always been intended for ALL Kentuckians, however much of our user interactions with students and educators showed that people weren't finding what they need as easily as we thought," said CPE President Aaron Thompson. The agency responded by redesigning the homepage to allow visitors to select who they are—whether a student, parent, or educator—to narrow down what they are seeking on the site.

Since its launch, the platform has reached more than 45,000 users, ranging from middle and high school students to adults seeking new career paths. The website includes features highlighting emerging high-demand industries such as aerospace and aviation, as well as film and television. It also provides information on career pathways available at all Kentucky high schools and technical centers, making it particularly valuable for students exploring alternatives to traditional four-year degrees.

CPE plans to continue expanding the platform through 2026 with the addition of a scholarship database, living wage calculator, employer database, and personalized chatbot features. The effort supports the state's goal of increasing educational attainment to 60 percent of the population with a postsecondary credential by 2030.
