Dairy Queen blizzards to benefit Golisano Children's on July 30
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Participating Dairy Queen locations across Kentucky will partner with Golisano Children's at UK on July 30 for Miracle Treat Day, an annual fundraiser where $1 or more from every Blizzard sold goes directly to the children's hospital.
According to the University of Kentucky, the partnership helps support patients at the region's only children's hospital. "When our community shows up for kids, the impact is truly powerful," said Hayden Hughes, associate director of philanthropic partnerships for UK Golisano Children's. "Miracle Treat Day is a sweet way our friends at Dairy Queen and Children's Miracle Network help us change lives right here in Kentucky."
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $9 billion for 170 children's hospitals nationwide through decades of partnership with Dairy Queen. Kentucky Dairy Queen locations have been top fundraisers historically, raising more than $90,000 for UK Golisano Children's through philanthropic campaigns.
Golisano Children's at UK, located in Lexington, serves children across the Commonwealth. The academic medical center admits more than 6,000 patients annually and provides care for an additional 60,000 children through its clinics. It serves as the subspecialty regional referral and pediatric care center for central and eastern Kentucky.
Customers can preorder blizzards online for local pickup or visit participating Dairy Queen locations in Ashland, Barbourville, Beattyville, Berea, Campton and other Kentucky communities. Additional locations and online ordering information are available through the event website.
