Deadline to nominate health champions is May 29
Kentucky Health News reports that nominations for the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky's Healthy Kentucky Champion Award are due May 29.
The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky is accepting submissions for its annual award that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to improving the health of their communities and the commonwealth. The nonprofit organization works to address unmet health needs of Kentuckians by developing policy, improving access to care and reducing health risks and disparities.
The award seeks to honor Kentuckians who have invested time, energy and dedication to improving health through various avenues. Eligible nominees may be individuals who have advanced programs, research or policy advocacy to address health needs, or those who have helped reduce health risks and disparities while promoting health equity in Kentucky.
Award winners are eligible for the Gil Friedell Memorial Health Policy Award, which includes a $5,000 grant to a Kentucky-based nonprofit of the winner's choice. Previous recipients have included healthcare leaders and educators from across the state who have demonstrated commitment to public health improvements.
