Eight finalists chosen for Kentucky's 2026 'I Voted' sticker contest
Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams has announced the eight finalists in the state's 2026 "I Voted" Sticker Contest. The contest allows Kentucky students to create designs aimed at encouraging voter participation, and the winning design will be printed on official "I Voted" stickers distributed to county clerks for use during the November 2026 general election.
Kentuckians can vote for their favorite design at the Secretary of State's Office booth during the Kentucky State Fair, which runs Aug. 20-30. Much like during Kentucky's regular elections, voters may use a paper ballot to mark their choice and return it to a scanner.
Lizard Man, Elmo, Abraham Lincoln and more are on the ballot for a heated race to decide which Kentucky student's "I Voted" sticker will be available during November's election. One returning finalist is Fleming County student Cash Litzler with an iteration called "250," a nod to the nation's semiquincentennial.
This is the third annual contest sponsored by Adams. Kentucky's first "I Voted Sticker" contest was in 2024, with the idea coming from another design in another state's contest going viral. Adams told the Lantern his office received "several hundred" submissions.
"By offering designs for our 'I Voted' sticker, Kentucky students have done their part to promote voting," Adams said in a news release. "Now, it is up to Kentuckians of all ages to determine the winner."
