Freeman Automation, an electrical control panel manufacturer, plans to invest $1 million to establish a new manufacturing operation in Graves County, creating 20 full-time jobs, according to The Lane Report. Gov. Andy Beshear announced the expansion, with the company relocating from Carlisle County to a new 4,000-square-foot facility at Hickory Industrial Park in Graves County.

The expansion addresses Freeman Automation's outgrown current location. The new facility and equipment are expected to increase production capacity, enabling the company to fulfill contracts scheduled for 2027 and accommodate long-term growth. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.

Freeman Automation specializes in manufacturing electrical control panels used in industrial machinery, combining engineering, fabrication and field expertise to serve customers in municipal utilities, advanced manufacturing, public infrastructure and commercial and industrial markets. "We're excited to make this investment in Graves County and establish Freeman Automation's new home in the Hickory Industrial Park," said Josh Freeman, president of Freeman Automation.

Beshear highlighted the state's manufacturing momentum in a statement. "Kentucky's advanced manufacturing sector is paving the way for investment and quality job opportunities for communities across the entire state. When a company chooses to expand its operation here in the commonwealth, it is a reflection of our resources, workforce and business-friendly environment."

Graves County Judge-Executive Jesse Perry and Mayfield Mayor Kathy O'Nan welcomed the project as part of the region's economic development efforts. Hickory Industrial Park serves as a primary manufacturing hub in Graves County, attracting multiple manufacturing investments in recent years.

Freeman credited state and local economic development officials with helping advance the project, including the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, Graves County Economic Development, the city of Mayfield and Graves County government.
