Environmental nonprofit seeks votes in Target Circle giving campaign
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Bluegrass Greensource, Central Kentucky's leading environmental education nonprofit, is asking the community to support its mission through Target's Circle Community Giving program.
The organization is featured in the voting campaign, which allows Target shoppers to direct charitable funding to nonprofits in their community. Target Circle members earn a vote for each shopping trip they make and can use those votes to support nonprofits in their area, with grants awarded to organizations based on the percentage of votes received.
Bluegrass Greensource is dedicated to providing environmental resources and information to schools, community groups, local governments and citizens in Central Kentucky. Since the organization was founded in 2001, it has provided outreach programs focusing on household hazardous waste, rain barrels, environmentally-friendly lawn care, waste reduction, rain gardens and energy efficiency.
In 2025 alone, the organization logged 22,219 total community interactions, delivered 757 lessons, conducted 19 Main Street Clean Sweep events and hosted 220 attendees at the Sustainability Summit and Business Forum. The award-winning Live Green Lexington Partner program, managed by Greensource, has fostered recycling and water quality initiatives in more than 300 businesses, over 70 schools and more than 50 apartment complexes in Lexington.
Supporters can vote by setting their preferred Target store location in the Target Circle app or on Target.com. Shoppers can visit Target.com/circle to see which nonprofits are featured in their community and cast their votes. Each quarter, Target selects new nonprofits to feature based on shopper location, making voting convenient for local supporters.
