LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Fayette County Board of Education is scheduled to consider tax rates, hear updates on the superintendent search, and review major capital projects during a planning meeting on September 10, according to the board's published agenda.

The board is set to consider adoption of property tax rates for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The administration recommends adopting a 4 percent rate increase, which is a decrease from prior year rates. Current rates stand at 79.8 cents per $100 assessed valuation for real estate and 83.0 cents per $100 for personal property, according to the agenda.
