LEXINGTON, Ky. — Fayette County Public Schools is encouraging families to use SchoolCash Online, a secure digital payment platform that allows parents to pay student fees without visiting school buildings or handling cash.

The 24/7 system, which integrates with the district's accounting software, streamlines payments for class fees, field trips, yearbooks and other school-related costs. Families can register at FCPS.net/schoolcash and will receive email notifications as schools add 2026-27 fees to the system.

"SchoolCash Online helps parents and community members pay school-related fees safely, quickly, and easily," according to information from similar district implementations. The system allows families to manage multiple students' accounts, view payment history and print receipts from any device with internet access.

While online credit card payments are encouraged, FCPS noted that families may still pay fees through traditional methods — cash or check — if they prefer. School bookkeepers will handle in-person payments when families contact their school in August.

Cafeteria meal payments remain separate and continue through MySchoolBucks, the district said.

The 2026-27 school year for FCPS begins August 12, 2026, giving families time to set up their SchoolCash Online accounts before classes start.
