LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board has welcomed intellectual property attorney Tony Bonner as a new board member, according to an announcement from Blue Grass Airport. Bonner will serve a four-year term on the airport's 10-member board.

Bonner, who has practiced law in Kentucky for 20 years, serves as an intellectual property partner at the Lexington office of national law firm Dinsmore & Shohl LLP. His practice focuses on patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, copyright registration, patent opinions, open source issues and intellectual property licensing and related litigation, with particular expertise in the electrical, computer and mechanical engineering fields.

Beyond his legal practice, Bonner brings significant community engagement to the role. He sits on the Downtown Lexington Partnership Board and Executive Committee, serves on the Intellectual Property Section of the Kentucky Bar Executive Committee and holds a leadership position on the Kentucky Intellectual Property Alliance Board, where he serves as its Intellectual Property Ecosystem Collaboration Pillar Lead. Bonner was also named to the 2026 Kentucky Super Lawyers list in recognition of his peer accomplishments.

The appointment comes as Blue Grass Airport continues its growth trajectory, welcoming over 1.6 million passengers in 2025, a new record for the facility. The Airport Board's 10 volunteer members are appointed by the Mayor of Lexington and confirmed by the Urban County Council. The board sets policy, represents community interests and oversees the operations of Kentucky's third-busiest airport.
