LEXINGTON, Ky. — J Batt will begin his tenure as CEO of Champions Blue LLC and University of Kentucky Athletics Director on July 28, university officials announced Thursday, according to WUKY 91.3 FM.

Batt's appointment marks a significant leadership transition for the Wildcats athletics program. The new athletics director takes over the role following the departure of previous leadership and will oversee all UK sports operations, fundraising through Champions Blue and the broader athletic department during a period of significant change in college sports, including the evolving landscape of athlete compensation and conference realignment.

Champions Blue LLC serves as the fundraising and support organization for UK Athletics, handling donations and financial contributions from boosters and supporters. As CEO of both the LLC and the athletics department, Batt will have comprehensive oversight of finances, coaching hires, facility development and day-to-day operations across Kentucky's numerous varsity sports programs.

The timing of Batt's arrival comes as college athletics continues navigating challenges including name, image and likeness regulations, transfer portal dynamics and competing pressures to maintain competitive excellence while managing athletic budgets.
