Jackson Named Chair of Blue Grass Airport Board
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board appointed Tonya Jackson as chair effective July 15, 2026, according to an announcement by Blue Grass Airport. Jackson, who has served on the board since 2020, succeeds Brian Wells as chair.
Jackson recently retired after more than 30 years at Lexmark, where she served as senior vice president and chief people officer overseeing human resources for the company's 8,500 employees. Her tenure focused on talent acquisition and development, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, internal communications, and inclusion programs.
The Airport Board also appointed Clay Angelucci as vice chair. Marc Mathews continues as treasurer and Shirie Hawkins as secretary. The 10-member board includes Tony Bonner, Angela Coleman, Bangaly "Sav" Savané, Dave Sevigny and Mary-Alicha Weldon. Members are appointed by Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton and confirmed by the Urban County Council.
The board appointment comes as Blue Grass Airport launched its "Future LEX" initiative, a nearly $500 million expansion program to accommodate growing passenger traffic over the next decade. The airport served approximately 1.6 million travelers in 2025 and is preparing for a projected near-doubling of annual enplanements by 2045, according to airport officials.
Jackson continues to serve on several boards and committees throughout the community.
