The Kentucky Assistive Technology Loan Corporation will hold a special board meeting on July 17, according to an announcement from the Kentucky Education and Workforce Cabinet. The meeting is open to the public.

KATLC is a state program that provides low-interest loans to Kentuckians with disabilities for assistive technology including modified vehicles, hearing aids, adapted computers and mobility devices. In fiscal year 2024, the corporation received 79 applications and approved 55 loans totaling $290,998 at zero percent interest.

Since its first loan in 2000, KATLC has distributed more than $10 million in financing to help Kentuckians with disabilities achieve greater independence. The board consists of seven members, four of whom must have disabilities, and oversees all loan applications.

The organization announced in January 2024 that it is undergoing a reorganization and searching for a new lending partner. No agenda details were included in the meeting announcement.
