LEXINGTON, Ky. — Keeneland's September Yearling Sale reached new heights during its second session, with 111 yearlings selling for $79.6 million and 23 animals bringing $1 million or more to set a single-session record for the prestigious auction.

A colt by Into Mischief sold for $3.7 million to M.V. Magnier and Peter Brant's White Birch Farm to become the most expensive horse of the sale so far. The colt, consigned by Glennwood Farm, is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner and sire Mo Town and stakes winner Justique.

"He was just a big, strong colt, tremendous walk and a great presence on him," said John Gunther of Glennwood Farm. "Everybody loved this one."

Through two days of Book 1, 208 horses have grossed $151.4 million, an increase of 5% from last year's $144.2 million for 217 horses. The average price of $727,885 rose 9.55% from $664,447 in 2025, while the median of $600,000 jumped 9.09% above last year's $550,000. The sale has produced 41 seven-figure yearlings through two days — the most in the auction's history for that span.

"It was a great day," said Keeneland President and CEO Shannon Arvin. "Lots of energy carried through with great participation internationally and domestically. The prices held and better."

Other top-priced yearlings included a Gun Runner colt sold for $3.1 million to AMO Racing USA. The colt is a full brother to Grade 1 winner Locked. A Flightline colt brought $2.6 million to Flying Dutchmen, which led all buyers with five acquisitions totaling $6 million during the session.

Two yearlings each sold for $1.95 million: a Curlin filly purchased by Mandy Pope's Whisper Hill Farm and a Justify colt acquired by Mayberry Farm.

Taylor Made Sales Agency led consignors with 24 yearlings sold for $16.03 million during Tuesday's session.

"We're very much on a solid trajectory," said Keeneland Vice President of Sales Tony Lacy. "Watching the young stallions like Elite Power and Cody's Wish getting well rewarded today was wonderful to see."
