Gov. Andy Beshear announced further momentum within the state's site and building development efforts as more than $6.1 million was approved to support future investment and job creation in Cumberland, Fayette, Madison, Russell and Scott counties through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative.

The funding is designed to support site preparation and infrastructure improvements to attract future business investment and create jobs. The KPDI program evaluates projects based on workforce availability, access to infrastructure, and development costs that prospective companies would consider when deciding where to locate.

"Our continued investment in site and building development initiatives is helping continue the economic momentum we are seeing across our commonwealth," Beshear said. "Congratulations to these communities on their approvals."

According to the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, since the beginning of his administration, Beshear has announced more than 1,300 private-sector new-location and expansion projects totaling over $50 billion in announced investments, creating more than 70,000 jobs. Beshear and the Kentucky General Assembly have allocated up to $220 million in funding for the site development initiative overall.

The program has proven effective at attracting companies. As of February 2026, 51 companies had located on KPDI-funded sites, generating $5.7 billion in capital investment and more than 7,400 jobs statewide.
