Kentucky Horse Park Announces Chewy Equine as New Venue Sponsor
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Horse Park announced Chewy Equine has joined as a venue sponsor for the facility, marking an expansion of the online pet retailer's presence in Kentucky's equestrian community.
The announcement, made in February 2026, reflects Chewy's growing involvement in equestrian sponsorships following its emergence as a major player in the equine health market. In October 2025, Chewy announced its acquisition of SmartEquine, a leading U.S. provider of equine health products formerly known as SmartPak, which has expanded the company's reach into specialized equine supplements, tack, gear, and therapeutic products.
The Kentucky Horse Park, widely recognized for its world-class equestrian facilities and attractions, hosts numerous high-profile events throughout the year. The park serves as home to the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, which draws nearly 90,000 spectators annually and features international-level equestrian competition. The facility also operates a 260-site campground and the International Museum of the Horse.
Chewy describes itself as a leader in pet food, supplies, and healthcare, with operations as a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. The partnership with the Kentucky Horse Park aligns with the company's broader strategy to establish itself as a comprehensive resource for equine owners and riders nationwide.
Details regarding the scope and duration of the sponsorship arrangement were not disclosed in the initial announcement. The Kentucky Horse Park's main season runs from March 18 through November 1, 2026, with the facility open daily except Tuesdays.
