Kentucky Horse Park Commission to Meet Tuesday at Visitor Center
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Horse Park Commission will meet on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. EST, the park announced in a meeting advisory released May 18. The meeting will be held in the KHP Visitor Center.
The Kentucky Horse Park, located on nearly 1,200 acres of lush bluegrass in Lexington, is a unique public institution dedicated to celebrating humanity's relationship with the horse. The park was established in 1978 and welcomes over a million visitors each year, serving as both a premier equestrian competition facility and a tourist destination.
The park features the refurbished International Museum of the Horse, multiple competition arenas seating between 1,200 and 5,500 spectators, and nearly 50 different horse breeds that call the facility home. The Commission oversees the operations and strategic direction of the state-owned facility.
Earlier this year, Kentucky lawmakers advanced legislation strengthening safety at the Kentucky Horse Park by clarifying the Horse Park Commission's authority to remove or bar individuals who pose a risk to guests, staff, or participants. The proposed bill aims to align state policy with national sport safety standards.
More information about the meeting is available on the Kentucky Horse Park website.
