Monday, October 5th is the last day to register to vote in Kentucky before the November election! There are a few different ways to register:

Online registration must be completed by 4 p.m. on Monday, and you can do so through this [link](https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/ovrweb/?ref=news.civiclex.org).

You can also register by printing out and completing this [mail-in registration form](https://elect.ky.gov/Resources/Documents/SBE%2001%20-%20KY%20Voter%20Registration%20Application%20FILLABLE%20406.pdf?ref=news.civiclex.org). Just make sure it’s mailed and postmarked by October 5th.

To register in-person, visit the County Clerk’s Office and submit your registration there.

Registered voters can check their registration status by using [govote.ky.gov](https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/ovrweb/govoteky/?ref=news.civiclex.org).

The [State Board of Elections](https://elect.ky.gov/Resources/Pages/Registration.aspx?ref=news.civiclex.org) website explains that you must meet the following requirements in order to register:

- Be a U.S. citizen and a Kentucky resident for at least 28 days prior to the election
- Be at least 18 years old by the November 3rd General Election (you can register while you are 17 years old if you will turn 18 by November 3rd)
- Not be a convicted felon (unless your right to vote has been restored following an expungement, Executive Pardon, or Executive Order)
- Not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of law
- Not claim the right to vote outside of Kentucky

College students are able to register to vote using their dorm address. According to the [U.S. Vote Foundation](https://www.usvotefoundation.org/state-voter-information?ref=news.civiclex.org), if you are a college student and do not have a Kentucky-issued ID, you can use your university-issued ID at the polls.

The General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 3rd. Learn more about what will be on your ballot using [CivicLex’s Election Guide](https://news.civiclex.org/lexingtons-nov-3rd-election-guide-everything-local-voters-need-to-know/).
