KOI Superior Walls has officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Boone County, marking a significant expansion for the precast concrete construction materials company. The project, first announced in April 2024, is creating 73 full-time jobs across manufacturing, sales, design, administrative and management positions.

The manufacturing facility includes approximately 38,000 square feet of production space and 6,000 square feet of office space. The company manufactures precast concrete foundation walls for residential and commercial construction, a product designed to improve efficiency and quality in the home-building process.

The new facility will also allow for the expansion of the existing company KOI Precast Concrete, which has been operating in Boone County since 1987. KOI Precast Concrete manufactures precast products for underground utility projects throughout the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State region.

KOI Superior Walls is a licensee of Superior Walls of America Ltd., which was founded in 1981 and operates across 25 states and three Canadian provinces. The Boone County facility represents the first Kentucky operation for KOI Superior Walls specifically, though the parent company KOI Precast Concrete has deep roots in the region.

Gov. Andy Beshear supported the project, with the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approving a 10-year incentive agreement that can provide tax benefits based on the company meeting wage and employment targets. The company is expected to maintain an average hourly wage of $36.14 including benefits for the positions created.
