Lexington Catholic drops 2-0 decision to Shelby Valley, then sweeps Corbin and Blazer
Lexington Catholic went 2-1 in girls' volleyball on Saturday, October 10. The Knights lost 2-0 to Shelby Valley, a result that MaxPreps described as a clash between two of the state's top teams. Shelby Valley entered on a long run of home wins and improved to 29-3 on the season, while the loss left Lexington Catholic at 16-9.
The Knights bounced back with a 2-0 home win over Corbin. That victory ended a three-game drought at home for Lexington Catholic, and Corbin, which had been on a three-game winning streak, dropped to 17-12-1.
Lexington Catholic closed the day with a 2-0 road win over Ashland Blazer. The Knights have won seven of their last nine games away from home, and the win gave them back-to-back victories. Blazer fell to 24-7.
