LEXINGTON, Ky. — Coreise Johnson, a public health educator and community engagement coordinator with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, has received the 2026 Kentucky Black Pride Community Service Award, the health department announced.

Johnson was recognized for her years of partnership with Kentucky Black Pride to bring HIV prevention resources, education, and testing to the community. Her work has included delivering presentations at the organization's Women's Health Summit, where she encouraged women of color to prioritize their health.

"This honor reflects the compassion, expertise, and dedication she brings to public health every day," the health department said in a statement celebrating Johnson's achievement.

The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the Black LGBTQ+ community in Kentucky through service, advocacy, and dedication to improving health outcomes and quality of life.
