Lexington Humane Society moves Mutt Strut to Legends Field
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington Humane Society will host its 2025 Mutt Strut on June 14 at Legends Field, marking the first time the annual fundraiser has been held at the new venue. The dog-friendly 5K run and casual walk, presented by Hunter Faulconer, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, with all proceeds supporting animals in need.
The event invites community members to participate in a timed 5K race or enjoy a leisurely stroll while supporting the Humane Society's mission. In addition to the walk and run, attendees can expect food and drinks, live music, pet games, kid-friendly activities, and local vendors.
"We're excited to take Mutt Strut to Legends Field," said Meghan Hawkins, Director of Development for the Humane Society. "LHS and the Lexington Legends are both long-standing staples in our community, so bringing an iconic event to an iconic venue just feels right."
The Lexington Humane Society, founded in 1889, is the largest pet adoption agency in Central Kentucky. The organization is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that relies solely on private donations, grants, and community support. In addition to pet adoptions, the Humane Society provides community education on responsible pet care and offers spay and neuter services to qualifying families at reduced costs.
The event is supported by Platinum Sponsor MetLife Pet Insurance and Gold Sponsors including Bluegrass Veterinary Services, Erie Insurance, Kentucky American Water, Metronet, The Campbell Family Senior & Hospice Program, and UK Federal Credit Union. Community members can register, donate, or learn more at the Humane Society's event page.
