LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington Open, a USTA Pro Circuit tournament showcasing professional men's and women's tennis players from around the world, returns July 27 through Aug. 9 for its 31st year at the University of Kentucky's Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.

The tournament benefits Golisano Children's at UK, formerly Kentucky Children's Hospital, and provides support for the UK men's and women's tennis teams. The children's hospital serves as a regional referral center for Central and Eastern Kentucky, handling more than 7,300 inpatient admissions and 172,000 outpatient visits annually.

The two-week event brings rising stars and established professionals to compete for ranking points and prize money on hard courts. Since its inaugural tournament in 1995, the event has grown to become a key fixture in the professional tennis calendar, attracting emerging talent vying against seasoned competitors.

The tournament offers multiple ways for the community to participate. Volunteers are needed for positions including ushers, drivers, gate attendants and ball crew. UK HealthCare employees receive complimentary admission to any day of the tournament with a valid employee badge. The tournament opens with women's qualifying play on July 27, followed by the women's main draw through Friday, July 31. Ladies' Day is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, and community tennis clinics will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1. The women's finals and men's qualifying begin on Sunday, Aug. 2. Men's play continues Aug. 3-7, with the men's finals on Sunday, Aug. 9.
