LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lextran's Board of Directors has postponed its January meeting due to extreme weather conditions, disrupting the transit authority's regular governance schedule.

The Board of Directors meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, has been pushed back as the region contended with severe winter weather. The board typically meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m., and Lextran said it would announce a rescheduled date once determined.

The board oversees Lexington's public service transportation system, which operates 25 fixed routes and a door-to-door paratransit service. The postponement comes as the area experienced winter storm conditions typical of late January, when temperatures and precipitation create challenging travel conditions across Central Kentucky.

Lextran, the transit authority of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, regularly conducts monthly board meetings at the Loudon Administrative Offices, located at 200 West Loudon Avenue. The board also offers virtual participation for those unable to attend in person through livestream on its YouTube channel.

The postponement does not immediately impact regular Lextran transit service, which continues operating seven days a week. The agency recently completed renovations to its Downtown Transit Center at 150 East Vine Street, which reopened to the public in late January. Lextran continues to serve the community with its established bus schedules and paratransit offerings during the weather delay.
