Lextran planning brief outage of real-time tracking services
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lextran will take its real-time bus tracking services offline for scheduled maintenance late Wednesday, affecting multiple passenger information systems for approximately one hour.
The outage will impact the MyStop mobile app, the Text-for-Next system, and real-time information on the Lextran website from approximately 11 p.m. to midnight on August 5, according to a notice posted by Lexington's transit authority.
All buses will continue operating on their regular schedules during the maintenance window, Lextran said. Riders seeking schedule information can visit Lextran's online route schedules or call 859-244-2020 to confirm departure times by entering a stop number, the agency noted.
The MyStop app provides real-time graphical tracking of bus locations, trip planning using Google Search integration, and service alerts. The Text-for-Next system allows riders to receive upcoming departure information by phone or text message. Lextran has conducted similar maintenance on these systems multiple times throughout 2026.
Transit officials thanked riders for their patience with the temporary service interruption.
