LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lextran is hosting public feedback sessions this week to gather input on updates to its Wheels paratransit service rider guide. The four public meetings will be held at various community locations across Lexington.

Lextran Wheels is a shared ride, door-to-door public transportation service for Lexington-Fayette County citizens with disabilities that operates 365 days a year. The service, which operates in partnership with RATP-Dev, serves eligible riders who cannot use the fixed-route bus system due to disability.

The public meetings are scheduled for Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Lexington Senior Center, Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Bob Brown House, Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at McLeod's Coffee House, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the HDI Center for Assistive Tech Services.

Residents unable to attend in person can share feedback through multiple channels. Those interested can call (859) 244-2039 to leave a voicemail, email compliance@lextran.com, or fill out a comment card at Lextran's administrative office at 200 W. Loudon Avenue.

The Wheels program supplements Lextran's fixed-route service by providing accessible service to those who need it. To qualify for the service, applicants must complete an application and have a healthcare provider complete a Medical Verification Form. Eligibility determinations are made within 21 days of a completed application.
