Man arrested in Cantrill Drive shooting and robbery
LEXINGTON, Ky. — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a March shooting and robbery on Cantrill Drive, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Eric Adams, 31, was arrested April 1 on charges of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and felon in possession of a handgun. He is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
Officers responded March 17 at approximately 5:30 p.m. to a residence in the 1700 block of Cantrill Drive after receiving a report of shots fired. Police located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During their investigation, detectives determined the shooting occurred during a dispute and robbery. According to court documents, the victim was struck with a mini sledgehammer, shot in the leg, and grazed by a bullet on the hand. On March 19, police interviewed one victim at Lexington Police Headquarters, who identified his alleged attacker only as "Jerry."
Adams has prior felony convictions from 2017 in Hamilton County, Ohio, according to arrest records. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Fayette County Circuit Court.
