CALVERT CITY, Ky. — MegaFit Meals is investing $9.25 million to expand its Western Kentucky operations, planning a new 40,000-square-foot food manufacturing facility near its existing Calvert City operation that is expected to create 40 jobs in Marshall County, according to a report from the Lane Report.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced the expansion Thursday. The meal preparation company, which is USDA-certified and locally owned, plans to add positions in food manufacturing, logistics and clerical operations.

Founded in 2015, MegaFit Meals began as a small business preparing fresh meals for sale at local fitness facilities and has since developed into a multimillion-dollar food manufacturing operation that prepares, packages and distributes frozen prepared meals to customers across the United States. The company already employs more than 100 people in Kentucky and will bring its Kentucky workforce to a potential 140-plus employees once the new positions are filled.

The new facility will be located near MegaFit Meals' existing Calvert City operation. Company officials said the additional manufacturing capacity will help accommodate continued year-over-year growth and position the business for future expansion opportunities.

Marshall County Judge-Executive Kevin Spraggs and Calvert City Mayor Gene Colburn praised the investment, highlighting how the expansion reflects the strength of the area's workforce and business environment. Marshall County's strategic location and diverse industries have positioned it as an attractive region for business growth, with food processing among its key industrial sectors.

The investment also marks a significant vote of confidence in homegrown businesses choosing to expand locally rather than relocate operations elsewhere, a trend that strengthens the regional economy and workforce development initiatives.
