Kentucky-based meal preparation company MegaFit Meals is investing $9.25 million to expand its operations in Calvert City, creating 40 new jobs, according to an announcement from the Office of the Governor.

The expansion will support the company's growing demand for its fresh, prepared meals targeted at fitness enthusiasts and athletes nationwide. MegaFit Meals currently employs more than 100 Kentuckians, and the new positions will bolster its workforce across manufacturing, distribution and customer service operations.

Founded by brothers PG and Vasili Georgiou, MegaFit Meals grew out of their family's restaurant legacy spanning more than 50 years in West Kentucky. The brothers launched their meal-preparation business after discovering gym members were interested in ordering pre-made, nutritionally balanced meals.

The company, which specializes in delivering fully cooked meals with specific nutritional profiles, ships products across the United States. Calvert City serves as the company's primary production and distribution hub.

This marks the latest expansion for MegaFit Meals, which has experienced rapid growth since its founding. In 2019, the company announced plans for a $2.9 million facility in Benton that would create 50 additional jobs, demonstrating the broader economic impact of the Marshall County-based operation.

Kentucky has supported the company's growth through business incentives and workforce development resources. The investment in Calvert City reflects the state's continued efforts to attract and retain food manufacturing operations, a key sector in Kentucky's economy.
