LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Planning Commission Subdivision Committee approved four major development projects on July 2, while postponing a 28-lot residential subdivision proposal over concerns about stormwater management and roadway improvements.
The committee, which met in the Phoenix Building to review technical aspects before full Planning Commission consideration, signed off on the final subdivision plan for Glenmore Farm, Inc., located at 615 and 625 Gentry Road. The project was approved with seven conditions recommended by staff, including requirements for the Urban County Engineer's acceptance of drainage systems and approval from the Urban Forester regarding tree protection.
The Lane Allen Park subdivision proposal at 1899 Parkers Mill Road in Council District 10 was postponed after committee members raised questions about the project's stormwater detention design and intersection improvements at the entrance with Lane Allen Road. The committee recommended postponement to allow the developer to address these concerns before resubmission to the full Planning Commission.
Two Lexmark International development plans also gained committee approval. The Section 1, Lots 9 and 10 project at 985 Freight Boulevard was approved with 13 staff-recommended conditions, while the Samuel H. Bryan, Tract 8 project at 2914 Clays Mill Road received approval with 12 conditions.
The committee also approved a zoning development plan for the Southside Technical Center Property at 1770 and 1800 Harrodsburg Road, subject to 14 conditions proposed by staff.
All approved projects must satisfy conditions related to engineering standards, environmental compliance, and utility requirements. The full Planning Commission was scheduled to hold a public hearing on these items on July 9 at the Government Center before making final decisions on the applications.
