Police seek 18-year-old in Covington shooting that critically wounded teen
COVINGTON, Ky. — The Covington Police Department is searching for 18-year-old Ryan Cupp of Independence in connection with a shooting that left a juvenile victim in critical condition, according to LEX 18 News.
Police responded to a possible shooting call around 11:30 p.m. Friday at the 100 block of East 11th Street in Covington. Officers found a teen victim with a gunshot wound who was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Detectives identified Cupp as the alleged shooter. Police have warned the public not to approach him and are urging community members who recognize Cupp to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Covington Police detectives at (859) 292-2210.
Covington, located in Kenton County across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, has seen its share of violent crime in recent years. The incident marks another serious assault in the Northern Kentucky community.
