Reddit Roundup
Over on R Lexington right now, people are talking about a pretty big concert happening tomorrow night that apparently nobody knows about.
Oh yeah, the ZZ Top show at Gatton Park. Someone posted that like seventy-five percent of the tickets are still unsold, and they're wondering why there's been zero advertising for it.
That's wild for a name that big, even if they're not exactly in their prime anymore. But when you look at the comments, it sounds like the pricing might be the real issue here.
Right, one person said they can afford it and they like ZZ Top, but they're not dropping a hundred seventy-five bucks for two lawn seats. Another commenter called it a perfect recipe for an empty concert when you're booking bands that peaked fifty years ago and charging over a hundred fifty for grass seats.
Someone else mentioned that Dwight Yoakam's also on the bill, but they're still passing because of the Ticketmaster fees. They pointed out there's a two-day festival later in May for thirty-three dollars total that's not going through Ticketmaster.
On a completely different note, folks are celebrating yesterday's Reforest the Bluegrass event. Someone posted about the great turnout and all the families that came out to plant trees.
That sounds like such a nice community day. One commenter said their family's been going for over twenty years and they love revisiting old sites to see how the trees have grown.
That's what Lexington's talking about this morning. More from the neighborhood in a bit.
