Over on R Lexington right now, people are talking about giving back to the community even when money's tight, and someone's trying to track down their stolen bike.
Yeah, there's a really heartfelt post from someone who says they're broke but still wants to volunteer around town. They're asking where they can help out without having to donate money.
And the responses are so encouraging. Multiple people jumped in with suggestions like Food Chain, God's Pantry for serving meals, even the library and parks department have volunteer opportunities.
I love seeing that kind of community spirit. Someone else mentioned the Salvation Army and Catholic Action Center too. Really shows there are plenty of ways to pitch in that don't involve your wallet.
Now on a less cheerful note, someone had their bike stolen off Lancelot Lane and actually spotted the thief walking it through the Kroger parking lot on Tates Creek a couple days later.
Oh that's frustrating. They mentioned the bike has a distinctive hot pink bag on it. One commenter had some practical advice though, suggesting they check Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace since stolen bikes often get posted for sale pretty quickly.
Another person shared they actually got their friend's bike back that way by pretending to be buyers and meeting up with whoever was selling it.
