LEXINGTON, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear announced that Space Tango will expand its Lexington headquarters with a $7.4 million investment that will create 25 new high-wage jobs, underscoring the state's growing aerospace and space technology sector.

Space Tango, a Kentucky-based company that designs and operates automated systems for research and manufacturing in microgravity, has become a key player in the emerging space economy. The company builds automated systems for research and manufacturing in microgravity, simplifying access to space and accelerating discovery through facilities on the International Space Station.

Since 2017 through a NASA Space Act Agreement, Space Tango provides facilities to support iterative research and development and manufacturing in space. The company has supported experiments on over 40 missions flown to the International Space Station and recently contributed to NASA's Artemis II mission, which completed a historic 10-day journey around the moon in April.

The expansion reflects broader momentum in Kentucky's aerospace industry. The state is home to more than 500 aerospace-related facilities employing over 46,000 Kentuckians, and since 2020, there have been 53 aerospace-related projects representing over $738 million in investment and over 2,000 new jobs.

Space Tango's work spans multiple industries and applications. The company's systems enable advances in health, technology, and manufacturing through microgravity research, with applications ranging from disease modeling and drug development to materials science and biomanufacturing.
