LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government's Technical Review Committee met Wednesday morning to consider several subdivision and development proposals, including final record plats for residential projects on Tates Creek Road and Ohio Street, as well as an expansion plan for a major senior living community.

Among the projects reviewed was the GDK Farm LLC final record plat at 5447 Tates Creek Road, which calls for subdividing nearly 14 acres into nine single-family residential lots and 20 townhomes. The property straddles the Fayette-Jessamine county line.

During discussion of the GDK Farm project, committee members raised concerns about tree removal along Sanctuary Lane and requested the applicant prepare a revised tree protection plan and mitigation proposal. The committee also recommended postponing approval pending clarification on sanitary sewer connections, visitor parking for townhomes, and maintenance of stormwater management areas. Coordination with Jessamine County regarding stormwater management that crosses county lines was flagged as a potential requirement.

The committee also reviewed Phase 7 of Sayre Christian Village at 3775 Belleau Wood Drive, a development plan for the nonprofit senior living community. The project involves demolishing part of an existing structure and constructing a new nursing home building with associated parking.

Additional items on the agenda included a final record plat for properties at 313, 315, 317 and 319 Ohio Street in Council District 1 and several postponed development proposals. The Griffin Gate Center project on Newtown Pike would include a new Hampton Inn and Suites, expanded convention center space, and 150 to 200 additional parking spaces.

All plans submitted to the committee must conform to Lexington's Land Subdivision Regulations and Zoning Ordinance. The next Technical Review Committee meeting is scheduled for October 28.
