LEXINGTON, Ky. — Transylvania University celebrated its Class of 2026 with a week of festivities culminating in the commencement ceremony, honoring graduates from more than two dozen states and five countries.

The commencement ceremony took place on Old Morrison lawn, where class members were recognized in traditional academic regalia. The ceremony featured a new Golden March tradition, with the Class of 1976 and Robert Barr Society members participating, welcoming graduates into the alumni family.

Senior Week featured multiple celebrations tailored to the graduating class. A Senior Send-Off included lunch, regalia pickup, and festivities at Alumni Plaza, with events extending throughout the week. The class held a Senior Challenge Happy Hour at Old North Bar, owned by alumnus Wes Hogan, and Student Life hosted a senior night.

The Class of 2026 participated in the Senior Challenge fundraising project, supporting various academic programs, athletic initiatives, and campus improvements. Graduates raised funds to replace outdoor furniture on campus, working toward a $2,026 goal.

The ceremony included an alumni reception immediately following the proceedings in Alumni Plaza, with professional photography available for free download within two weeks. The livestream and recording were available through the university website for family and friends unable to attend in person.

Founded in 1780, Transylvania University continues its tradition of celebrating graduates in ceremonial style, using academic regalia steeped in centuries of educational pageantry.
